With the invitation of Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple, Taiwan, Wallace Chan used two years to design and complete the production a Great Stupa, which will be exhibited at Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Memorial Art Museum due to be opened in December 2011. This Great Stupa involved the techniques of craving, gold forging, stone polishing and inlaying, as well as machinery setting. Creating such a big piece was not only a challenge to different kinds of techniques, but also a pilgrimage physically and spiritually to explore the taste of Buddhism, sowing the seeds of the creation of Wallace Chan’s fine jewelry art in the future.
